Classic Wedding Day at the Rockaway Hotel with Tropical Vibes
This summer, I had the honor of documenting Caitlyn and Joseph’s gorgeous Rockaway Beach wedding day. They wanted a celebration that was fun, but full of elegant details. After visiting the Rockaway Hotel, they knew that this beautiful Long Island venue was the perfect spot for their tropical inspired wedding day. From the start, Caitlyn and Joseph told me that their day was about having fun with their loved ones and closest friends as they celebrated this next step in their lives together.
The day of their wedding was calling for rain, but Caitlyn and Joseph never let it dampen their spirits. Instad, they fully embraced the weather throughout the day. I love that instead of hiding from it, they really enjoyed it together - that spirit is really who Caitlyn and Joseph are as people! For their classic Long Island wedding, Caitlyn and Joseph chose a neutral and light blue color palette that really accented the natural elements of the beach and their reception space at the Rockaway Hotel. Caitlyn’s bridesmaids were her “something blue” in their mismatched blue and white gowns, which I happened to love! They even had delicate white parasols to use during our portraits on the boardwalk - which was a great elegant detail to incorporate easily into their portraits.
Before their church ceremony, Caitlyn and Joseph met for a first look on the patio at the Rockaway Hotel. Caitlyn looked stunning! I’m still obsessed with her bridal look. When we took a walk on the beach for some portraits, her veil and skirt created such movement in their portraits thanks to the wind we had. As the day wore on, she let her hair down for a more relaxed party look (still beautiful, though!). Caitlyn and Joseph enjoyed celebrating with their friends all night long and their dance floor was definitely busy! It was a great way to end the night, surrounded by the ones they love most!
