She has the other critical qualities that are hard to foresee or appreciate until after your wedding. She is the definition of a professional photographer. When you are looking for a wedding photographer, it is easy to get sucked in by portfolios and style. You are probably a year away from your wedding, recently engaged, and mostly care-free. The ability to take a pretty photo is only half of what you should be looking for, and Asher has it. She also has the other half which is more logistical and I would say vastly underrated.
As the one vendor that you will spend the most time with during your wedding, you want to be comfortable around them. Asher is easy going and feels like an old friend. I had multiple relatives ask me about Asher and remark that she was fabulous, respectful, and felt like family. Asher is INCREDIBLY organized. From her website for clients to timely reminders & suggestions and ultimately to her day-of timeline, where she has planned exactly where everyone needs to be and at what time. This alone makes Asher worth it. Everything flows incredibly smoothly and it relieves a ton of stress having the essentials of your day choreographed ahead of time. I can't overemphasize how important this is. Lastly, Asher adds extra details and treats both before and during your wedding that make the entire experience even more special. Asher Gardner is amazing!!!! We live in NYC and hired Asher to do our engagement photographs and she absolutely KILLED it. She was very communicative throughout the whole process from the initial meeting to get to know each other to when we got our gallery. She was also very flexible and reasonable when it came to picking the locations of the shoot and helping us watch out for any issues such as bad weather. For the shoot itself, Asher is a true artist. She was extremely clear and crisp in directing my fiance and I for our poses. We felt so comfortable around her, which made our pictures come out very natural. She had quite a few candid poses in our gallery that we didn't even remember taking!!! I've gotten NONSTOP compliments on our pictures. What truly sets her apart is her amazing personality and ability to put everyone at ease while still capturing the most amazing shots. Asher is an absolute dream to work with!! I had no idea just how influential the photographer is an orchestrating the big day. First, I just fell in love with her style. I'm obsessed with the natural light and bright and airy feel of her photos. She does an amazing job of capturing the little details of the day as well as capturing the candid "in between" moments that in my opinion, are even more beautiful than the staged photos.
My husband and I were in constant communication with Asher during the wedding planning process and I found myself turning to Asher for advice and guidance on so many different aspects of the wedding such as how the flowers would photograph, how to handle the sometimes complicated nuances of family photos, chatting about the timeline and our goals for the wedding. I was so grateful that Asher was as wonderful as she is because I didn't realize just how much time we'd be spending together on the wedding day. They were extremely accommodating and they know that this is your "one day." The amount of time and effort that they put into our day, was/is remarkable. It is not just the "day of" that they were there for us for. There was so much preplanning that they put into it and a great deal of time afterwards on editing and perfecting every single photo. On the day of, they were constantly trying to get the best shots for us. They were looking and scouting different locations and were open to our suggestions.
